11 New features and refactoring:
12 - Much of the Catalyst::Engine code has been moved into Catalyst::Request
13 and Catalyst::Response, to be able to better support asynchronous web
14 servers such as Twiggy, by making the application engine more reenterant.
16 This change is as a prequel to full asynchronous support inside Catalyst
17 for AnyEvent and IO::Async backends, which allow highly scaleable streaming
18 (for applications such as multi-part XML HTTPRequests, and Websockets).
21 - This means that the $c->engine->env method to access the PSGI environment
22 is now deprecated. The accessor for the PSGI env is now on Catalyst::Request
23 as per applications which were using Catalyst::Engine::PSGI
25 Catalyst::Engine::PSGI is now considered fully deprecated.
27 - The private _dump method in Catalyst::Log is now deprecated. The dumper is
28 not pluggable and which dumper to use should be a user choice. Using
29 an imported Dump() or Dumper() function is less typing than $c->log->_dump
30 and as this method is unused anywhere else in Catalyst, it has been scheduled
31 for removal as a cleanup. Calling this method will now emit a stack trace
32 on first call (but not on subsequent calls).
34 Back compatibility fixes:
35 - Applications still using Catalyst::Engine::PSGI as they rely on
36 $c->request->env - this is now the provided (and recommended) way of
37 accessing the raw PSGI environment.
40 - Spurious warnings have been removed from the test suite
43 - Fix the display of PROJECT FOUNDER and CONTRIBUTORS sections in the
