3 New features and refactoring:
4 - Much of the Catalyst::Engine code has been moved into Catalyst::Request
5 and Catalyst::Response, to be able to better support asynchronous web
6 servers such as Twiggy, by making the application engine more reenterant.
8 This change is as a prequel to full asynchronous support inside Catalyst
9 for AnyEvent and IO::Async backends, which allow highly scaleable streaming
10 (for applications such as multi-part XML HTTPRequests, and Websockets).
13 - This means that the $c->engine->env method to access the PSGI environment
14 is now deprecated. The accessor for the PSGI env is now on Catalyst::Request
15 as per applications which were using Catalyst::Engine::PSGI
17 Catalyst::Engine::PSGI is now considered fully deprecated.
19 - The private _dump method in Catalyst::Log is now deprecated. The dumper is
20 not pluggable and which dumper to use should be a user choice. Using
21 an imported Dump() or Dumper() function is less typing than $c->log->_dump
22 and as this method is unused anywhere else in Catalyst, it has been scheduled
23 for removal as a cleanup. Calling this method will now emit a stack trace
24 on first call (but not on subsequent calls).
26 Back compatibility fixes:
27 - Applications still using Catalyst::Engine::PSGI as they rely on
28 $c->request->env - this is now the provided (and recommended) way of
29 accessing the raw PSGI environment.
32 - Spurious warnings have been removed from the test suite
35 - Fix the display of PROJECT FOUNDER and CONTRIBUTORS sections in the
36 documentation. These were erroneously being emitted when the Pod
37 was converted to HTML for search.cpan.org
39 - Fix documentation for the build_psgi_app app method. Previously the
40 documentation advised that it provided the psgi app already wrapped
41 in default middleware. This is not the case - it is the raw app psgi

372 through PSGI handlers such as Plack::Handler::FCGI,
373 Plack::Handler::HTTP::Server::PSGI, Plack::Handler::Apache2, and so
374 on. However, deployment can still work the same as it did before. The

387 - Allow the response body to be set to `undef' explicitly to indicate the
388 absence of a body. It can be used to indicate that no body should be sent at
389 all and processing of views should be skipped. This is especially useful for

391 bodies to suppress view processing. In order for this to work, you will also
392 have upgrade Catalyst::Action::RenderView to at least version 0.15.
