3 =head1 The "Artistic License"
5 This document includes the Perl Artistic License, one of the two
6 alternatives licenses under which Perl can be redistributed and/or
7 modified. See also the GNU General Public License L<perlgpl>.
11 The intent of this document is to state the conditions under which a
12 Package may be copied, such that the Copyright Holder maintains some
13 semblance of artistic control over the development of the package,
14 while giving the users of the package the right to use and distribute
15 the Package in a more-or-less customary fashion, plus the right to make
16 reasonable modifications.
24 "Package" refers to the collection of files distributed by the
25 Copyright Holder, and derivatives of that collection of files
26 created through textual modification.

30 "Standard Version" refers to such a Package if it has not been
31 modified, or has been modified in accordance with the wishes
32 of the Copyright Holder as specified below.

36 "Copyright Holder" is whoever is named in the copyright or
