   4 Unicode 3.1.

   6 This release consists of corrections and additions to the
   7 Unicode Character Database for the Unicode Standard,
   8 Version 3.1.

  10 Detailed documentation of the files constituting the
  11 Unicode Character Database (contributory data files for
  12 the standard itself) can now be found in
  13 UnicodeCharacterDatabase.html. See also UnicodeData.html,
  14 PropList.html, NamesList.html, and DerivedProperties.html
  15 for specific details about particular files or sets of
  16 files.

  18 Unihan-3.1.txt is a very large file, so it is also provided in
  19 three different compressed formats:

  21 Unihan-3.1.zip for Windows. (Use winzip)
  22 Unihan-3.1.Z   for Unix.    (Use uncompress)
  23 Unihan-3.1.gz  for Unix.    (Use gzip)

  25 UCDwithoutUnihan.zip is a Windows winzip file that contains
  26 all of the Unicode Character Database files except
  27 Unihan-3.1.txt and this ReadMe.txt file. This file is
  28 provided for convenience when downloading files from the
  29 Unicode Character Database. Note that the files are zipped in
  30 exactly the same format they have on the server (with Unix
  31 line endings). From a browser, right-clicking on this file
  32 entry will allow automatic download and unzipping on a
  33 Windows system with winzip installed.
