  31         - This release moves the restarter functionality into a new
  32           module Catalyst::Restarter, that is not a Catalyst Engine
  33           subclass.

  35           The new restarter is simpler and more reliable, because it
  36           does not try to test if a changed piece of code can be
  37           compiled. It simply restarts the server whenever it detects
  38           changes. This also makes it much faster.

  40           However, this does mean that the server can simply die when
  41           a changed file cannot compile. This is different than the
  42           old behavior, where the server remained running without
  43           incorporating the change.

  45           Finally, the new restarter relies on File::ChangeNotify,
  46           which is designed to accomodate per-OS methods of detecting
  47           changed files. As of this writing, it currently ships with a
  48           file watcher that uses inotify on Linux systems, and a
  49           default fallback class that does everything in pure Perl.
